WHAT is
MOMS DO SCIENCE?
Science is fun! Everyone can do it! We Support Tiller teachers!
We know that anyone can do science and we know how much the kids love having mom’s help inspire them to reach their full potential.
Seeing a mom in a non-traditional role will break stereotypes, empower confidence, and re-frame a child’s identity of self and other females.
WHO: A volunteer group of Tiller moms, grandmothers, guardians, and friends.
WHY: Science is fun! Diversifying children’s role models through community led, exciting, hands-on science activities to all Tiller students.
HOW: Easy, fun, step-by-step, grade-level activities based on science concepts that use everyday materials.
SOME BACKGROUND
Mom’s Do Science began in 2017 with events held in February to coincide with International Women and Girls in Science Day. Each year we have expanded into more classrooms and added experiments.

To bring Mom’s Do Science to all Tiller kids in 2019-2020 we need you. Email: momsdoscience@tillerschool.org
NO SCIENCE BACKGROUND IS NECESSARY. TIME COMMITMENT IS ONE HOUR.
- All activities and materials are provided with step-by-step instructions
- You are matched to your child’s grade level
- Events are held during school hours and consist of 4-5 volunteers
- Come and inspire your child and their classmates
