Creating Navigators for Life
Lead Teacher
I began working at Tiller in 2007 after graduating from East Carolina University with a degree in Elementary Education and concentration in Child Studies. I feel so lucky to teach at this wonderful school. I believe that all children can learn and that the best learning is done in a safe, positive, fun environment. We treat our classroom like our home and each other like family. When away from my school family, I enjoy painting and other crafts, reading, and being outdoors. I am very close with my family and love spending time on the water with my husband Blake and English bulldog Zeus.
Lead Teacher
I graduated from UNC Pembroke with a Bachelor's Degree in 1998, and this will be my 24th year teaching. I have two grown boys, Nick and Lacy. I also have 3 grandchildren, Logan, he lives in Izmir, Turkey, while Samuel and Jennings live locally.

I am a Carteret County native. My husband and I have a family of three sons, three dogs, and two cats. When I am not in the classroom, chances are you can find me lounging in a beach chair on Shackleford Banks. This passion lead me to Tiller School where I work as a Teaching Assistant in the 3rd and 4th grade classrooms. I am so proud to be a part of the Tiller School family, and to work alongside them to enrich the lives of our wonderful students.ve a BS in Public Relations and a minor in Business from Appalachian State University. I joined the Tiller family in 2018 after becoming an empty nester and moving to Atlantic Beach from Durham, NC. I have always been passionate about children’s education and helped start a charter school in Durham in 2005. I have 3 children in college, two of whom will graduate this spring. My youngest is a sophomore at ASU. In my spare time I enjoy decorating, boating and spending time on the beach. I’m a diehard Tarheel. GO HEELS!
